Thank God for maternity leave

Today is my last day at work. On Monday, I will officially be on maternity leave whether I have a baby in hand or belly. It’s sort of a strange feeling. I’m totally excited because I’ll be gone until at least September 15, but then it’s weird because I haven’t had this much time off since I was in high school. It’s surreal.

For all the mothers out there, I know it’s important to note that this time away from work will not all be footloose and fancy-free. I realize I’ll have to take care of a baby, but I tell ya–the idea of watching the Price is Right, surfing the Web from a coffee house, and meeting with my study group before noon all sounds pretty darn wonderful. Hopefully, little Gabriella is keen to being mobile!

I'm leaving this behind!

Look how clean my desk is. Believe me--this is a rare site!

  1. Hey Amy! I have been checking these last few days to see if Gabriella (adorable name) is here yet. I am so excited for you and Adam. Enjoy every minute of your maternity leave because, like Fairbanks summers, it goes much too quickly.
